About: Pitäjä updates the traditional Finnish material of birch bark to modern day use. The bark band around the Kartio glass protects the coffee drinker's hands from the heat. The bands have been sewn together using different patterns and colours - this way each family member can have their own individual Pitäjä.

Co-operation: Design was made in close co-operation with Ulla Autio, a textile and interior designer from Muotoilutoimisto coDu.
Client: Mehiläinen Oulu
About: Mehiläinen interior graphics are functional interior decoration. They help users to navigate, they create positive and warm atmosphere, and they support the Mehiläinen brand. The design was based on studies about what is good design in a hospital environment, paying special attention on safety and user needs.
We found the theme for the graphics from Kalevala - the national epic of Finland. In Kalevala there is a story about mehiläinen, a bee, searching and finally finding the right medicine to cure Lemminkäinen, a young hero who had died and wasthus brought back to life. The Mehiläinen company got it's name from this story.

About: Good acoustics can sound, and also look, very cozy. Akusti renews the style of perforated acoustic panels. The holes, which are normally rigidly placed in straight lines, have gone wild on the Akusti wall, creating decorative figures: swallows and trees. Akusti acoustic panels are functional interior decoration.

About: Taitos is a paper curtain meant to be used as pane curtain or a screen. The curtain can be folded in a small cardboard triangle. When opened, the folds are visible in the curtain, giving it an angled, three-dimensional appearance. When the curtain reaches the end of its life cycle, it can be recycled easily and in an environmentally friendly way by putting it in the waste paper recycling bin.
